![]() Here, you can browse videos, articles, and exercises by topic. With Katie Griffin, Stevie Vallance, Andrea Baker, Franoise Blanchard. ![]() It will thoroughly prepare learners for their upcoming introductory physics courses, or more advanced courses in physics. Physics the study of matter, motion, energy, and force. Physics 101 Much: Directed by Stephane Berry. Prerequisite (s) : MATH 135 (Grade of B or higher) or MATH 163 (Grade of C or higher) or MATH 165 (Grade of C or higher) or any 200-level MATH course and ESOL 052 and ESOL 054 or ACLT 052 or ACLT 053 Lab Fee: 40.00. ![]() With 100 brief lectures and over 100 problems, this comprehensive course is similar in detail and rigor to those taught on-campus. Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions. Once the modules are completed, the course ends with an exam. Each of five modules contains reading links to a free textbook, complete video lectures, conceptual quizzes, and a set of homework problems. The course follows the typical progression of topics of a first-semester university physics course: Kinematics, Newton’s Laws, Energy, and Momentum. They will gain experience in solving physics problems with tools such as graphical analysis, algebra, vector analysis, and calculus. Physicists examine the story behind our universe, which includes the study of mechanics, heat, light, radiation, sound, electricity, magnetism, and the structure of atoms. Upon completion, learners will have an understanding of how mathematical laws and conservation principles describe the motions and interactions of objects all around us. Physics is the branch of science that explores the physical nature of matter and energy. Wes Olson presents the amazing mechanics behind the world God created Students will learn the physics of light, sound, heat, electricity, and motion. If you aren't planning on physics, you can take it anyway because it's an amazing course, but will be more math and intuition heavy.Įdit: A lot more people in this subreddit who have taken or TA'd this course than I thought. This course serves as an introduction to the physics of energy and momentum. You will be with the people who are really interested in physics and will be great people to work with. If you are thinking of going into physics, I will say definitely yes to taking 107. ![]() There are maybe 70 physics grads each year, but you'll find many people who went on to do physics took that course. I loved that course and I think many other people felt the same. CSU Channel Islands (CI) is the only four-year, public university in Ventura County and is known for its interdisciplinary, multicultural and international. Out of everyone in first-year science (>1200), there were maybe 60 students who took 107, but it was well worth it. Overall, I think you will have a better understanding of physics from 107 because of the math and material covered. If one object transfers energy to a second object, then the first object. We also went over derivations in class (I'm not sure what the comparison is with 101 on that). In physics, work is done on an object when energy is transferred to that object. The biggest difference is 107 is more math-heavy in that you will be working with slightly more complicated systems and you have to use your intuition to solve many of the problems. I took PHYS 107/108/109 a few years ago back when Erich Vogt taught it and I'm involved in the 101/102 review sessions and exam packs.
